Smart Cities Network Academy

The Smart Cities Network (SCN) is a global platform that fosters thought leadership, business intelligence, and knowledge sharing within the smart city community. It aims to create opportunities for collaboration and business growth by bringing together professionals, thought leaders, and innovators from various sectors. SCN operates as a not-for-profit, membership-based organization, comprising individuals with expertise in strategic planning, cybersecurity, smart mobility, circular economy, healthcare, and more.

The organization has also taken significant steps to nurture the next generation of leaders in the field by establishing two Smart Cities Youth Network groups at Singapore Management University (SMU) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). These groups focus on incubating future leaders in Singapore and the broader region, preparing them to drive the development of smart cities.

SCN envisions a collaborative ecosystem that includes thought leaders, consultants, government agencies, private and public organizations, and other stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to create inclusive, sustainable, and smart cities that are both physically and digitally secure. These cities would respect the natural environment, improve the quality of life for their residents, and foster a competitive economy, all while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

My Role in Smart Cities Network

As a member of the prestigious Smart Cities Network (SCN), my role is centered around the documentation and management of knowledge within the community. I am responsible for creating a secure platform where members can safely document their journeys to success and share important documents such as signed MOUs. Additionally, you facilitate the dissemination of knowledge by providing a platform for members to conduct online and blended courses. The platform is accessible to Members of SCN, as well as other course participants and invited Guests. Each entity can only see restricted content allowable by the role given. The platform is Smart Cities Network Academy.

My work also involves maintaining a knowledge repository that allows members to access valuable insights and resources, ensuring the continuous flow of information within the network. This repository serves as a hub for sharing expertise, experiences, and best practices, supporting SCN’s mission of fostering collaboration and innovation.

Overall, the role is critical in ensuring that SCN members have the tools and resources needed to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of smart cities. By managing these platforms, I help ensure a seamless exchange of knowledge that supports both individual and collective success within the network.
